Hatem Shahwan, born in 1965 in Palestine and now an Italian citizen, graduated in Mechanical Engineering and obtained a PhD in Energy Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Turin. Since 2001, he has been registered with the Turin Order of Engineers.
He has thirty years of professional experience, holding key roles in several leading companies in the energy and environmental sustainability sectors. Currently, in addition to Shahwan Srl, he is the owner of Pronur Srl, an Italian company specializing in energy savings.
In recent years, through his work with Pronur, he has gained significant experience in developing innovative energy efficiency and savings solutions for wellness centers, hotels, and spas.
Wellness centers require a delicate balance of multiple elements in constant harmony from an energy perspective. These include indoor pollution and microclimate—the set of environmental parameters such as temperature, relative humidity, and air velocity that influence thermal exchange between individuals and their surroundings to meet various needs, from relaxation and rest to safety and inner peace, while also effectively balancing the use of energy sources.
It was inevitable: working in wellness centers led me to broaden my perspective on environmental issues beyond advanced technological design. My extensive experience in energy sustainability, innovative nature, and natural curiosity drive me to design continuously improving solutions for increasingly demanding clients who view wellness and health as a lifestyle.
From this fascination, combined with the vivid childhood memories of the Dead Sea, interactions with wellness center users, and curiosity about products used for relaxation and well-being, the idea of complementing the offering with high-quality natural products naturally emerged, leading to the creation of Shahwan Srl.
